Below are 25 Bible Verses About Money and Stewardship that will change your perspective about money.

1. Do not be greedy for money and be satisfied with what is there. Because he said: “I don’t want to leave you or leave you.” Hebrews 13: 5

The Bible clearly states that money can be downright dangerous to a person. It’s just not worth living by the motto: “The more you have, the more you want. His complaints are never silent. ”Not that money in the Bible is demonized.

The problem is not money either, but people. Precisely because there is so much to be done with money, many think that more money makes them even happier. But Jesus pointed out that money forces us into an employment relationship from which we can only get out if he is our Lord.

2. Hastily pulled material melts away, but whoever collects calmly gets more and more. Proverbs 13:11

If you suddenly get a lot of money, you often cannot handle it. Only prosperity that is gradually and properly acquired does not capture the heart.

Whoever gets rich too quickly and in the wrong way becomes a slave to Mammon and has to watch helplessly as his wealth is lost again (diminishes). The saying is right: “How won, so melted away.”

3. Because those who want to get rich fall into temptation and entanglement and into many foolish and harmful desires, which let people sink into ruin and damnation. 1 Timothy 6: 9

This verse describes three things that happen to those whose desire is wealth.

First, although every person is tempted in some way, those who desire wealth “fall” to temptation. The urge to “get rich,” or to seek material prosperity at all costs, leads to disaster. In contrast, believers are to resist temptation and live for Christ.

Second, those who desire to be rich fall “into a snare.” The Greek word Paul uses here is pagida: an animal trap, usually set with a rope or net, used to capture an animal lured in by bait.

In a similar way, those who desired riches followed temptation until it led to doom. This is another hallmark of Christian teaching on sin and morality: Satan will often use temptations to “lure” us away from what we should be doing, in order to trap us in the consequences of our own sin (Psalm 119:110; 2 Timothy 2:26).

If they can lay up for their children; but then persons should not toil and weary themselves to heap up riches when they know not who shall gather them and much less make use of indirect and illicit methods to obtain them.

Resolving to be rich at any rate: rather men should labor for durable riches, lay up treasure in heaven, seek those things which are above, and labour to be accepted of God both here and hereafter; which only is in Christ.

Fulfilling success. And “bless” means to order a person or a cause to be given to God, to God’s blessing, who gives success.

Whereby something that contradicts the nature of God, despite all “blessing words”, is not blessed because blessing also means
Will stands. And if God does not bless, all our efforts are in vain.

This is also what today’s verse says. When it is said that our efforts do nothing, it does not mean that God automatically blesses and that “doing nothing” even though we are able to do something brings blessings.

The child of God is to have an eternal perspective, and our hope of a reward laid up for us in heaven should be a far greater incentive for us to live a life that is pleasing to the Father – than the accumulation of things that will soon pass away in this world.

Words of a king. Words of amazement. David, one of the most glorious kings of Israel, and his tribal princes are pursuing a proud project. A central sanctuary is to be created. God himself is interested in it.

And how should it be financed? David is motivated by God’s plans. A first step. He donates precious stones in unimaginable abundance. He reaches deep into his pocket. Adds gold and silver. Also valuable wood. David is far from arrogance.

He asks: who am I? And it sounds through the lines that he is amazed to be able to participate in the building of the house of God. His actions are not kept secret. On the contrary. The rulers of the people let themselves be infected immediately.

A second step. – What motivates you? Just the example of David? It is also noted: “You gave ‘ s willingly and wholeheartedly to the Lord. ”- Now God’s house, a temple, will come into being. A wish can become reality.

13. Acquiring wisdom is better than gold, and acquiring insight is more noble than silver. Proverbs 16:16

“How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather be chosen than silver!

16. Let falsehood and lies be far from me; Do not give me poverty and wealth; But let me take my part of the food that you have given me. Proverbs 30: 8

Remove far from me vanity and lies. “Vanity,” is inward hollowness and worthlessness, and “lies” are the expression of this in words.

The prayer might indeed be taken as an entreaty against being polluted with the companionship of the evil, like “Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil;” but it is best taken subjectively, as a supplication for personal truthfulness and sincerity in all relations both towards God and man.

Give me neither poverty nor riches. Both extremes are deprecated: the mean is the safest and the happiest.

17. Man desires kindness, and better a poor man than a liar. Proverbs 19:22

The desire of a man is his kindness. The Revised Version rather paraphrases the clause, the desire of a man is the measure of his kindness; i.e. the wish and intention to do good is that which gives its real value to an act.

The word for “kindness” is chased, “mercy;” and, looking to the context, we see the meaning of the maxim to be that a poor man’s desire of aiding a distressed neighbor, even if he is unable to carry out his intention, is taken for the act of mercy.

“The desire of a man” may signify a man’s desirableness, that which makes him be desired or loved; this is found in his liberality. But the former explanation is most suitable.

18. The little that a righteous has is better than the abundance of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked will be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous. Psalm 37: 16-17

A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked. This is a fine proverb. The little of one good man is contrasted with the riches of many wicked, and so the expression is rendered the more forcible. There is more happiness in the godly dinner of herbs than in the stalled ox of profane rioters.

In the original, there is an allusion to the noise of a multitude, as if to hint at the turmoil and hurly-burly of riotous wealth, and to contrast it with the quiet of the humbler portion of the godly.

We would sooner hunger with John than feast with Herod; better feed on a scant fare with the prophets in Obadiah’s cave than riot with the priests of Baal. A man’s happiness consists not in the heaps of gold which he has in store

19. You set your eyes on wealth and it is no longer there; For he makes wings like an eagle and flies into the sky. Proverbs 23: 5

We live in times that are becoming increasingly difficult to make ends meet and the temptation is to look at those around at those who appear to be so bountifully endowed, with the riches of this world… and yearn for a little of what they have.

It seems so unfair – it seems so unjust, that those who seek after the wealth of this world appear to have a purse filled with coins, with little to concern their God-less lives

Whereas we have such a meager portion, and can scarce breathe for worry about provision for tomorrow, which enlarges into fear of the future. And yet as God’s blood-bought children, we are told in that when we gaze upon riches, it disappears, for it simply sprouts wings and flies away – like an eagle.

Paul has been teaching the Christian doctrine of being submissive to our human authorities, including and especially government authorities.

Now Paul gets to a specific example submission to human government: paying taxes. Christians are taxpayers, Paul writes because those taxes support the work God intends to do through the human authorities He has put in place.

Even when those men or women stand against the truths of God, their fundamental role as order-keepers is still part of God’s will.

23. I am happy about the way of your testimonies as I am about all wealth. Psalm 119: 14

The way which the Scriptures, that testify of God and Christ, direct unto; and the principal way is Christ himself, the only way of life and salvation; in which believers walk and go on rejoicing; rejoicing in his person, offices, grace, righteousness, and salvation.

The lesser ways the Scriptures point unto are the ways of duty and paths of ordinances; in which truly gracious souls find a great deal of peace, pleasure, and delight; or, “as above all riches” 18: the joy that believers have in the ways of God is superior to that which any natural or worldly man has in his substance of every sort.

Riches in the ways of God, as are vastly preferable to the riches of this world; they find Christ, the pearl of great price, and his unsearchable riches, the riches of grace, and the riches of glory; and even the word of God itself, those testimonies of his, are more desirable than thousands of gold and silver, and give greater pleasure than the increase of corn and wine.

24. The wealthy possessions are like a strong city to him and a high wall seems to him. Proverbs 18:11

The abundance of a rich man’s wealth he conceives to be as it were the abundance of people in a “city”; the telling of his money he imagines to be the walking of people up and down the streets; his bags standing thick together to be so many houses standing close one to the other.

His iron-barred chests to be so mary bulwarks; bonds and bills to be his cannons and demi-cannons, his great ordinance; and in the midst of these he thinketh himself environed with a “great wall”, which no trouble is able to leap over, which no misery is able to breakthrough.

25. For the Lord your God will bless you as he has promised you. Then you will lend to many peoples, but you will not borrow from anyone; you will rule over many nations, but no one will rule over you. Deuteronomy 15: 6

God is faithful that has promised, and he always gives the blessing he promises according to the nature of the promise; if absolute, and without conditions, he gives it without respect to any; but if conditional, as the promises of temporal good things to Israel were, he gives according as the condition is performed.
