Proverbs 3:27 Never walk away from someone who deserves help; your hand is God’s hand for that person.

― Mother Teresa

Deuteronomy 15:10 Give freely and spontaneously. Don’t have a stingy heart. The way you handle matters like this triggers God, your God’s, blessing in everything you do, all your work, and ventures.

Our giving should have no limit. True givers can give any time and every time. Don’t be a conditional giver, be a spontaneous giver.

Proverbs 21:26 all they do is think about what they would like to have. The righteous, however, can give, and give generously.

There is something strongly connected to the righteous, and that is giving. True righteousness must turn you into a genuine and heart giver. God is righteous and He is a giver. He gave us Christ, His best.

Giving Tithes and Offering.

2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Giving with grudges affects our offerings and service. God only accepts offerings that come from the heart.

2 Corinthians 8:12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have.

God is not asking you to give what you don’t have. Many are yet to discover what they have. Our giving should be according to what we have.

Leviticus 27:30 One-tenth of all the produce of the land, whether grain or fruit, belongs to the Lord.

The tithe belongs to God, it is non-negotiable. If 90% is not enough for you, then 10% can’t be enough for you either. Learn to take your eyes off from the portion that belongs to God.

Proverbs 19:17 Being kind to the poor is like lending to the Lord; he will reward you for what you have done.

God is a rewarder, not an awarder. He is an awarder of those that are diligently putting His word to work. Be kind, not only to the rich but also to the poor.

Malachi 3:10 Bring your full tithe to the Temple treasury so there will be ample provisions in my Temple. Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams

God is too faithful to fail you. He wants to prove His faithfulness over your life through tithing. Never listen to what many say about tithing. Discover the will of God through diligent study, and obey the scriptures.

Giving Money.

Exodus 22:25-26 “If you lend money to any of my people who are poor, do not act like a moneylender and require him to pay interest.

Don’t be in the habit of borrowing people’s money with interest. Borrow those in need, and don’t add unjust weight to it.

1 Timothy 6:17 Charge those who are rich in this present world that they not be haughty, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;

God is richer than all. God has silver and gold in His possession. He has all things in His possessions, yet He did not trust in the riches. It is possible for us to be rich and still maintain a holy character.

Deuteronomy 15:7-8 If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother,  but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.

Never harden your heart to your brother, to a neighbor, to those in need. God is happy when you show love and compassion to them.

Matthew 6:2-3 “So when you give something to a needy person, do not make a big show of it, as the hypocrites do in the houses of worship and on the streets. They do it so that people will praise them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full.

Maintain a good attitude when you help those in need. Helping others should not turn us into a mini-god over their lives.

Giving Back.

Psalm 37:21 The wicked borrow and never payback, but good people are generous with their gifts.

Be a man and woman of your words. If you promise to pay back, keep to your words. Godly people are full of integrity.

Revelations 18:5-6 For her sins are piled up as high as heaven, and God remembers her wicked ways. Treat her exactly as she has treated you; pay her back double for all she has done.

God is able to pay back anyone and everyone. He is not a respecter of persons. Remember that He will always pay back in double folds.

Luke 6:34 And if you lend money at interest to those from whom you hope to receive, what quality of credit and thanks is that to you? Even notorious sinners lend money at interest to sinners, so as to recover as much again.

“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”― John Bunyan

Luke 19:8 Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, “Listen, sir! I will give half my belongings to the poor, and if I have cheated anyone, I will pay back four times as much.

“We only have what we give.” ― Isabel Allende

Ephesians 6:8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, whether slave or free.

God is not a respecter of persons. Whatever a man sows, He will surely reap. God works with principles and not with feelings. Learn the principles of God and you will enjoy the best of God.

Bible Verses about Giving to the Poor.

Matthew 25:35 For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” ― Charles Dickens

1 John 3:17 If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you made it disappear.

Let us not love in words alone but also in deeds. We cannot claim to love God when we are not showing love to those we see around us.

Proverbs 22:9 Generous hands are blessed hands because they give bread to the poor.

Asking for a blessing is good but being a generous giver can easily trigger the blessing over your hands and the works of your hands.

James 2:15-16 If a brother or a sister is without clothing and in need of the day’s food, And one of you says to them, Go in peace, be warm and full of food; but you do not give them the things of which their bodies have a need, what profit is there in this?

Faith without works is dead. Speaking words of love and blessings are good but it must be backed up with acts of love.
